The potency of freedom lies in finding one’s own voice for life.
Naina G.
The voice within is the voice of the world and the voice that is unrecognized, is the one which doesn’t align with the world. The intricacies of both the situations can be looked down upon many a times while we train to ignore our own hunches in life.
The voice that is lying down there like a hidden gem, takes years of research, trials and errors which finally pushes our boundaries and finally reveals itself as a reward in the journey of life. It is easier said than done.
Have you ever felt like something has been missing in your life? Has there been a feeling of loneliness surrounding you for apparently no reason? Have you ever had experienced a feeling of abandonment during adolescence back in the days? Or was it a feeling of self- sabotage for some reasons? Did you experience the moments where you decided on something or someone, but later came to a realization of choosing a wrong path? Have you ever felt betrayed by the universe or higher forces while working so hard on something that you could even sacrifice your life for it just because there were signs that you were sure to interpret correctly and still wouldn’t make it to the end? Or have you ever thought about your life loosing a sense of purpose while the time passes by?
If your answer to most of the above questions was a quick ‘Yes’, believe you are on the right path! Why do I say that? Well, the fact that you recognize something like this, a loop in your life, states that you are quite observant even if not introspective in nature. Gradually, everyone has to get here!
The reason a lot of us can’t find peace & solace is basically either we are thinking about the past or the future. But why not present? Is it something we can control or have a hold of? Is it something easy or difficult to do? The cup that has been filled before can not be poured with a drink any further. Either the entire glass has to be replaced by a new one filled with either the same drink or another one or the old one needs to be emptied and refilled with another one of our choice. The scenario here looks complicated and completely fussy but the fact that a lot has to be changed or replaced or acted upon before we can get the right taste or the drink of our choice, is irreplaceable. Either ways, the change is inevitable and a drastic one at that. Same philosophy, if followed correctly, can do wonders in finding our own voice just like finding our own taste in drinks.
But how do we do that?
In the process of finding our own voice we go through intense phases of betrayals, breakdowns, breakups, traumatic experiences, delusions, breakthroughs, renewals, revivals, endings, beginnings, confusions, brighter moments, some wins and some defeats and so much more of all the good and the bad. While going through this process, we eventually become more observant and start paying attention to the repetitive patterns and details intricately woven in the charismatic web of circumstances in life.
Once we begin to recognize it all, we may or may not experience moments of epiphany, revelations, or even less. But the actions that lead us toward the voice of our soul are the ones we take with a leap of faith. Either the container has to be changed or the liquid has to be changed. Either way, something has to be changed, replaced, or renewed at least once. This comes with the faith that if it were already to our taste, we wouldn’t have the urge to change any of it in the first place. This is the greatest life lesson I have learned through my experiences and transitions in life that led to real transformation. It is the journey that taught me how crucial it was to find that voice, or at least a glimpse of it.
Without the beginning, how do we expect anything to end? Without a seeker, how does seeking hold value? Without a hunch, how do we recognize the path? Without pain, how do we heal? Without a push or monotony, how do we recognize the need for change?
After going through all the peaks and valleys of life, brushing aside our honest thoughts time and again, only to end up trusting the very instincts we ignored years ago, we come to realize that the strength of our own voice depends on our continued choice to follow our instincts, honor our innate desires, and embrace our love for life rather than surrendering to fear or the influence of others. Freedom, then, is just a byproduct of supporting oneself behind closed walls, even in the times when no one is aware of the battles we fought to get to where we finally feel liberated. While we embrace our voice and protect our empire, the freedom we attain comes with its own set of learnings that lead to empowerment in the true sense, finally revealing everything through moments of wonder and solitude.
Whether this resonated with you or not, please leave your honest thoughts on this subject in the comments so we can learn more about the varied experiences and lessons that shape our journey to authenticity. 🙂
