THE TEAMWORKER

TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK.

Do you prefer to work in a team or individually? What is your take on working with someone? Have you ever worked alone without anybody’s help? Do you really think working alone is better than working with someone for a large portion of your life? Or is it vice versa?

We, as human beings have the tendency to neglect the efforts of others while we grow financially with time and there are times when you look back at your journey to success. And when you do that, you may find yourself facing certain challenges back in the days. But, you’ll never find yourself alone while coping with those challenges and embracing your sufferings through those hard times. You may tend to overlook the efforts of your family, close friends, colleagues or even pets that probably saved you from drowning into the sea of self destruction and gave you strength just by being there in your life during tough times. But, the reality is that you were able to conquer those bad days because you had them by your side and you were too strong to give in.

Let’s face it. There is a saying that I often hear from people. It says, ”Team work makes the dream work.” But, do you know, not every team gets the success that they desire? Do you know what does this term ‘Team’ truly implies?

A family is always a team, even a couple is a team, siblings are a team, friends are a team too, you and your pet are again a team of two, you working with your colleagues is a team professionally recognized in office. A team is everywhere. You were never alone, just delusional about being lonely. Being alone doesn’t make you lonely but, if you are lonely, you may find yourself alone in the crowd. A team is what builds you. As we grow up, we start choosing our teams according to our definition of what a team is. The way one feels about themselves, is the way they feel about others and choose the company that fits them well according to their perception at any given point of time in life.

When I say, ”A team is what builds you“, it can be either way. For instance, if you choose a team of growing businessmen, you will become another growing businessman/woman with time. But, if you choose to be a part of a team of powerful gangsters, you’ll succeed in becoming one of them soon. Both the teams are building you in one way or the other irrespective of the perception of society. I won’t go deeper into the right and wrong here. That’s for you to decide. Apparently, you’ll grow and change into someone you choose to be. That change is inevitable.

A team might build you into someone else but, we can’t say that a team as a whole will be successful because that depends on various factors. It would be lie to say that a team that works towards the same goal, with the same purpose and similar intentions will always achieve their share of success unless their thoughts and actions are aligned towards that same goal, unless they can share the same pain during tough times and happiness during their peak times with gratitude and optimistic approach irrespective of how different they are or how differently they think and act.

It’s like a vehicle with four wheels, even single wheel can drag the whole car down if not taken care of properly on time. Choose wisely who your team is while you can. Once you come a long way with them, it might be a tough decision to make when you want to move out as they seem to no longer serve you or your purpose. At that point of life, you may not be understood by the same team members that you once cherished so much and all your efforts might be overlooked just because you chose to make a right decision for yourself in order to follow the same goals that were not in alignment with your team’s goals.
